For my second practicum post I have some updates. First, I joined my third network, Bebo, at the suggestion of one of my classmates. She described it as a combination of facebook and myspace, and it kind of is. I am having trouble figuring out how to make friends though. It prompts me to search my email address book to find people, but none of my friends have a Bebo. So, if you have one add me as a friend! I put up a picture and some information about myself, and I'm still customizing my profile page. Hopefully I'll figure out more things soon.
My twitter is doing well, and recently they came out with "new" twitter. Similar to facebook does, they changed the format around to make it easier to navigate and introduce new capabilities. It gives me more suggestions of who to follow, trending topics, who I follow, and who follows me. There is also a video about the new features. As I posted last time, I follow some news sources including CNN. I've been considering unfollowing them because they update way too often and most of their tweets are depressing. Every time I get on I feel like there is another shooting or natural disaster or something else just as terrible.
I completed one of my goals on 43 things! The first goal I completed was staying for a 5th quarter at a football game. Upon completion I wrote a blurb about the experience, and people who follow my goals can read about it. I also added a few more goals to complete, and as I think of more I keep adding. I've also been looking for someone to cheer on. I get 5 cheers, so I want to use them wisely. Here are all of the websites to follow my progress:
