Practicum #4-Sara

In doing more research on "tweens," I decided to look again at Justin Bieber and his fans. On Facebook, I "liked" his page and was then able to write on his wall. I asked questions like, "Hey kids and teens! What do you like most about Justin Bieber?" I did not receive any responses, but I am not terribly surprised because there is a new post about every 15 seconds from other people. Something that did surprise me though was that there were some comments on his page that were negative towards him. I guess I was expecting all "Bieber lovers," as opposed to people going out of their way to put Justin Bieber down. I suppose there will always be those people who join a website just to be able to put down the celebrity, but for the most part, it was kids and teens who loved Justin Bieber and everything about him. I also "liked" a page called "I have bieber fever, and you?" The hometown for this group is from Canada, but most of the posts were written in Spanish so I was quite confused by this. Since this was not as big of fan page as the first one I looked into, there was more of an opportunity to read people's comments and "like" them. I have still not received any answers to my questions posted, but I am hoping someone will answer them soon! With smaller fan pages like this one, it seemed that the tweens were able to discuss more in depth what Bieber fans are doing in the world. One girl posted and told all the information for joining his fan club online and all the benefits of joining it. These are some dedicated fans! The next page that I "liked" is called "Bieber Fever." On this page, the status is usually just one simple question like: "Who loves Justin Bieber?" or Who loves the song 'Baby'?" Most of the answers are short and just answer "ME!!" Sometimes it seems like there is a contest between the tweens and they are trying to prove who loves him more, but for the most part it is a good meeting place for fans of Justin Bieber to talk about their BIEBER FEVER!
