I saw a post on the Lady Gaga forum today titled "I'm a Newbie!" and it instantly caught my eye since we've discussed this in lecture. I thought it was interesting that this user wanted to acknowledge that they were a new user, and they wanted to meet others. I posted a screen shot of this specific post, and this user writes, "Hi! I'm new here and I'm a huge Little Monster so show me some monster love by making me feel at home! :)", and this person received several responses from people being nice and welcoming. I was happy to see these responses, because I have noticed some hostile behavior on this thread, and it was nice to see that people are welcoming to newbies. I know there are certain sites that can penalize newbies, for example, if they don't know the lingo, but it seems that the fans that meet in this forum are encouraging to new users.
