Practicum 5 Mike Kuerschner
Last night I was asked to "party up" which basically means join a group of players I had been in a game with before. The purpose of partying up is to actually build a team. Usually if players are playing well together in one game, they will join up to keep a good team throughout their time logged in. It is one way in which you can start to build camaraderie and a small sense of community in this version of networked gaming. Until now, my pursuits had seemed for individually based, but this is the first thing that made me really care about my team. There is also a "clan" option that you gain after a couple team wins. The clan option allows users to join a clan, and the clan name will appear next to the username. It is usually groups of friends that normally play together, and pretty much just shows association with other users. Still haven't gotten a clan yet, but that doesn't really surprise me, I'm still not that great at the game.
