I-Dosing

I promised two posts, so here is my second post of the afternoon. OK, so is this I-Dosing thing for real? I decided (even though everyone says don't do it) to get a look at it myself. The verdict? No. I agree with a previous post that this is a result of someone putting the thought of being high in your mind, and somehow you manufacture that feeling just because you think that is what is supposed to happen. It's just extremely annoying, loud, head-thumping music. Carla: if you find some advil, please get some to me ASAP. I don't see how anyone could believe in this or think it does anything to them. As someone else suggested, maybe people who feel a high after watching this already have some drug or substance in them. That seems like the only way someone could feel a high after watching techno music mixed with kaleidoscope-like pictures. I googled I-dosing and read a few articles on this new "craze." After reading, it seems that this is a pretty serious issue. The youtube videos are getting a lot of hits; many people seem to be watching these. Overall, people need to be careful with this, as it seems some people are showing a high-like effect after watching, but I still do not understand how people feel the way they report feeling after simply watching a youtube video.

  1. Although I researched MySpace for this assignment, I did look into i-Dosing after reading some of these blogs. I agree with you and Carla when you say it gives you a headache. I do not see how anyone can get the same feeling as being high from watching these videos and feel like they are harmless to teens.
