Practicum #1:

I was assigned to Twitter for my practicum project. Before this assignment, I had never really spent time on Twitter, and had never 'tweeted' before. I was excited to try Twitter because I feel like it keeps becoming more and more popular. I was curious to see how Twitter is different from facebook and other social networking sites. In lecture last week, Liz argued that Twitter actually brings people and communities closer because people share the little mundane parts of everyday life, and as a result, we can actually learn more about and feel closer to people. I have found this to be true through my experience. In my presentation tomorrow, I will discuss the social aspect of Twitter and how people use it as a social tool to follow friends and celebrities... looking forward to sharing what I've learned with all of you.
