Practicum Post #1- Maddie

For the practicum project, I was really eager to sign up for FourSquare, a locative program that I downloaded on my Blackberry a few weeks before this was assigned. Now that I have FourSquare for my project, I'm a bit worried that I'm not going to have much to talk about! Basically, FourSquare allows you to "check in" at your current locations, letting your friends know where you are at that given moment. One of the perks of "checking in" at a location frequently is that you can become "mayor" of that place, which can sometimes have benefits (I've heard of places where you can get discounts, like restaurants, if you are mayor) which is pretty cool. For now, I'm just going to keep on "checking in" and doing a lot more research. Comment if you have anything that you think would help me out! Thanks!
