Since I’m not up to date on any current TV shows, I chose to watch an SNL clip on Hulu. I figured it was episodic enough that it wouldn’t matter that I don’t normally watch SNL. I watched the Ronnie and Clyde clip with Rihanna. It was mildly amusing since it involved a song written for the skit. Before the clip started, I was forced to watch a 15 second advertisement for US Cellular. There was a banner for US Cellular above the video, but it is highly unobtrusive. The video quality was excellent, and the video did not skip or buffer at any point. I figured I’d watch the same video on YouTube and compare my experiences. There was no ad before the clip, but the words “youraudiofix.com” were on the video near the top of the window. There were no other ads during or after my video. YouTube offered suggested videos as well as a few other features. Personally, I would never use them, but they might be nice for people who want more out of the experience. Comparing the two, I feel like I would probably use Hulu for television watching. It was just a better video and better experience. Obviously YouTube has a lot of funny videos and trailers that are not available on Hulu so both sites definitely serve a purpose.
