My Hulu and YouTube experience

Over the weekend, I watched one episode of One Tree Hill on Hulu and the next on YouTube in order to compare the two websites. On YouTube, the episode came in ten minute segments, and I had to go back and click on the next part, and wait until the whole episode loaded a total of 5 times, as the episode came in 5 parts. On Hulu however, it went through the entire episode without commercials, and was of much higher quality. The colors, definition, and resolution were exactly as they would be on television. Not only was YouTube a pain to watch television episodes on because of its segmented parts and its buffering, but it was also very fuzzy and unlike watching a television program. Overall, I prefer my Hulu experience over my YouTube experience. However, when watching clips posted, such as “Teach Me How to Bucky,” or “Charlie Bit My Finger,” it is the ideal site to go to. You are able to search by a web browser, similar to Google, and easily find the video you are looking for. I do enjoy viewing shorter videos on this web space.
