I came across an interesting post in the Lady Gaga chat room today that I thought I would share. It is a post titled "I think I'm a lesbian :( " that was added by a user who believes she is gay but is scared to come out, and is looking for help from other "little monsters". This post demonstrates that people use this blog for things other than discussing Lady Gaga and her music, but they use it to reinforce their identity and to seek support from others they feel are like them. This user got many positive responses on this post from other users stating that they are going through the same thing. Many users post that Gaga helped them realize their sexuality or come out to others, and it's interesting how people feel bonded through artists such as Lady Gaga, and how chat rooms such as this are able to bring these people together. This forum has proven to be much more than just a meeting place for Gaga fans, and it's not just a site for people to argue to criticize others, it's clearly also a source of comfort and support for many people.
