Blog #7-Computerized Interactions
I decided to track myself last night from 5 p.m. till I went to bed (around 1 a.m.). Needless to say, it's actually quite disgusting how often I am using computerized interactions. For the most part, I am using my lap top to work on homework assignments or other schoolwork. For example, I spent a significant amount of my time last night working on my practical project for support groups. Not only am I using Supportgroups.com, but I also joined a few other support groups through miscellaneous websites and Facebook groups. While doing my homework, I am listening to the AOL Radio Christmas channel. I've basically been listening to it constantly since December 1st. I can only focus on homework for so long so I am constantly checking my email for distractions. Ultimately, this leads me to my worst distraction: online shopping. I probably spent a sold 2 hours searching through Ideeli and DesignerApparel.com deciding whether or not I wanted to purchase a new winter coat (which I eventually decided not to). I think this is probably one of my biggest procrastinations. I spend hours searching through different clothing and sized adding it to a hypothetical shopping cart. In the end, I don't end up buying these things most of the time. Then there is my 2nd biggest procrastination: FACEBOOK. I'm sure me like so many other people are constantly checking Facebook. I know I am, but luckily, I have a timer on my FB time so I can only be logged in for 45 minutes per day. Later, my evening of computerized interaction involved watching YouTube videos. My brother texted me because he had found a few funny viral videos, and he wanted me to listen to some new Kid Cudi songs. I spent about 30 minutes searching through random videos that were suggest for me. Also, last night I had to check the BCS bowls that were released on Sunday night. It only took me 10-15 minutes to look through and read all then material I wanted to read.
