Practicum 4- Maddie

I was really excited to use foursquare over Thanksgiving break in my home city of Los Angeles because I was getting really bored of checking into the same places over and over again in Madison. I thought it would be a lot more exciting to check into new places at home, and to see where my friends were checking in all over the U.S., and I was right! Although I didn't know half the places my friends were checking into in areas such as New York and Chicago, it was refreshing to see new venues come up on my foursquare "check-in" listings. In addition, I finally got to utilize the "create a venue" feature when there was no listing for my own house. I decided to call it "Casa de Marcus" in an attempt to have some sort of privacy. Over the past few weeks I have gained a few more badges. I received the "Jet Setter" badge since I visited 5 different airports over Thanksgiving break and the "Animal House" badge, since apparently I visited over 3 "Fratastic bars"... how exciting. Although I can obviously see the appeal of foursquare because it is somewhat addicting, I think I will most definitely delete the application when this project is over.
