Practicum (6)- Allison

I want to focus this practicum post on 43things because I have had the most success with this social networking site. It took a while to develop my goals and begin getting cheers, but once I did I felt very included. I write entries about my goals and it prompts others to cheer me on or write their own entries back to me. I feel that this is more a community in some ways than Facebook. This is because I know the people on Facebook that I interact with, but on 43things these people are strangers who genuinely care. The goals I put on the site are not highly ambitious or creative, but to see people caring about me and my success makes them worth achieving. This sense of community is special, and I think it adds so much value to the site. I have noticed so many different people on the site from men to women young and old and all different races. I think this is significant in showing that everyone has goals and everyone should get the support they deserve in achieving these goals. I have cheered people on and written entries to them, and I hope they feel the same way about earning the support of a stranger that I do. If you want to see what I mean by cheers you can go to this page: http://www.43things.com/person/AllisonHahn/cheers
