practicum 6

With the elections just a month ago, I have been trying to see what this would be more proposed pieces of legislation and how advocacy groups have responded to the election. After some searching on the Network of Strength Advocacy Action Center, I found the key notes of legislation. With nearly 2 dozen bills listed that the group either supports or monitors, I looked through but did not find any new or very recent additions. However, this was very informative and gives the web browser a lot of information. Not only does it just state the legislation, but it also includes the position and opinion the advocacy group has on these. I felt that this was more of a community than I had found in the past on the website. In addition, I was able to "Take Action Now", through the click of a button when I was looking at more details of the legislation. The option for me to personally make a difference and take action as part of a group was more rewarding and created more of an online community than just reading about news or updates. The ability to create and make a difference is what will make and advocacy group successful and desirable to be a part of.
