Practicum- Erica

I've found it very interesting how all the people on the allears Facebook fan page like to keep each other updated on their trip. I had mentioned before about how they gave full out itineraries, but it seems that they all want to give each other the play by play of the vacation experience as well. It is neat, considering those who are not in WDW (such as myself!) can imagine in or feel connected to the others who are there, and those who actually are there can plan things based off information from others. I do not normally keep updated with Facebook fan pages, so I've found it interesting to keep checking back on this one, especially since there are actually about 3 or 4 posts per hour at sometimes. One woman announced "Less than 12 hours until we leave for the airport! I just put the finishing touches on the mickey hairbow I made to go with the Minnie Mouse Dress I made DD5 for the MVMCP!!!" So far I've been able to figure out that MVMCP means Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade (everyone talks about that all of the time lately, it's been Christmastime in the parks since the Halloween parties ended--aka November 1st). I'm still working on figuring out what DD5 means- a lot of people use it in the forums too and so far I've been able to figure out that it means someone's child, but I do not know exactly what that stands for yet...hopefully I'll figure that out soon.
Otherwise, someone else notified the others: "MVMCP fireworks were awesome tonight! The crowd and atmosphere were great. Plus, the hot cocoa and cookies really hit the spot on this cold Florida night!" Someone else simply stated "At Magic Kingdom!!!" to which she received 10 "likes" and several comments wishing her a fun time. One person was even helpful enough to say "Very crowded at MK!! Wait time for Haunted Mansion now 35min! It's a Small World" is 40min.." to which many others began commenting the waits for other rides in their areas too.
All these posts are in addition to the normal posts that list other individuals who are planning their trip and asking for advice of where to stay or eat, where to fly out from, and so on. I find it intereting that the community extends beyond just the planning aspect of the trip and that everyone wants to continue updating the others on their activities through the park.
