Blog 3: MySpace

For this week blog I decide to check out MySpace. I found that most pages I visited had not updated for a long time. They just kept in an “old-school” style. after checking out numerous profiles, I tried to figure out why many people like facebook or twitter instead MySpace. Actually MySpace has many awesome features that facebook doesn't have, such as uploading their personal picture to set as wallpaper, adding a playlist of their favorite songs, placing different column in different places, etc… however, compared with facebook and twitter, first, MySpace lack of interaction. Beside of having a “top friend list”, people could chat if they both online. Also facebook has a nice “comment and reply” system which helps people to notice the comment and reply easily. Moreover, people like being in “group”, facebook helps people to meet different people with the same interest. Second, nowadays people seems like become “lazier.” Instead of writing couple long paragraphs, people more prefer to write couple sentences. It is the success of twitter, and MySpace tries to add some features like “mood” to keep up to date.
