I played in tandem with my roommate's boyfriend; he guided me through his current mission. I used the microphone and communicated with other players with whom he has formed a loose alliance. It was a completely different experience to play the game with others. I was uncomfortable with it at first, but slowly got more used to it and the mission was much more interesting than anything I had done. I definitely felt that playing World of Warcraft this way is how the game was meant to be played. More to come about playing as a Level 80 character this weekend!

Practicum 6-Carly
In my last practicum post, I wrote that I would soon explore what it is like to play World of Warcraft on a Level 80 account as opposed to my somewhat limited Level 12 character. The difference in the game-play was pretty surprising. I expected to be able to do more in the game, as I think anyone would when making a nearly 60-level jump in ability, but I was definitely stunned at how much more I could do in the game. Missions designed to scout mines and kill computer-based elves with the ability to do minimal damage to my character (though certainly enough damage to kill me fairly routinely with my limited skills) were a thing of the past.
