History of the Internet

Melih Bilgih’s clip about Internet history was a great learning tool and a perfect way to demonstrate how the Internet has evolved. Since we all grew up with readily accessible Internet access, we take for granted just how much the Internet has changed over time. I think it is great that we are able to use the Internet in education. There are YouTube videos and blogs for nearly any topic imaginable. Since the Internet is a huge source of information, it makes sense that it should play a large part in modern education. Unlike some of the others, I personally found the video easier than the reading. I think this has a lot to do with how we are raised. For people who are visual learners, the animations reinforce the words. I think the acronyms are slightly confusing as well, but the nice part of this video was that I can make a list of many of the concepts and then draw the simple picture from the video to help remember their meanings. I think it was definitely worth watching.
