History of the Internet

I've never really spent any time thinking about the Internet, how it works, where it came from, or why. It's presence is definitely something that I take for granted. This clip puts the Internet is a new perspective for me, although I can't say that I completely understand everything that was discussed in the video. I was shocked when the video traced the roots of computers/networks to 1957 with the topic of time-sharing, but I thought the most interesting part of the clip focused on the discussion of the missiles and how it influenced centralized communications and how that history in turn influenced the development (and naming) of the Internet. It was also pretty interesting to see how various forms of communication are intertwined through their networks.
