In preparation for the team's second biggest game in as many weeks, I was compiling some stats on our Twitter page at the athletic department (the main account @uwbadgersdotcom). With all the recent hype and excitement around UW athletics, I was not surprised to see a big jump in the number of tweets, retweets, and @ mentions for our page. I will post exact statistics for the month a little later, but we just about doubled our followers and number of @ mentions we usually get in the last week! Everyone with a Twitter account should definitely be following @uwbadgersdotcom! Go Badgers!
Additionally, our soccer Twitter pages have been growing as well. Wisconsin Soccer (men's and women's teams) have a big weekend ahead of them. The women's team is in second place in the Big Ten after big wins over Penn State and Minnesota. They have a game Sunday (as in two days from now) at 1 PM at McClimon Soccer Complex. It is a Student Day where all UW students receive free admission as well as free pizza! There will be Twitter updates promoting the game, but come out, support the team, and grab lunch before finishing those midterm papers!
