Blog #7 - "Using Computerized Devices"
I was a bit confused as to what constitutes a "computerized device" so I decided to google it... as I do with almost everything I'm confused about. My search of "computerized devices" returned basic definitions of "computer" --> "A computer is a programmable machine that receives input, stores and manipulates data, and provides output in a useful format." From that definition I think that my use of "computerized devices" is pretty limited to my smartphone (a blackberry) and my laptop. Over the course of the day/night I used a computer in several ways. Yesterday I started my day "attempting" to do my film project. I had to go use the computers in Vilas because they have this program "final cut pro" that I need to edit my film. When I decided that I was far too tired and bored to actually do work I used my phone to bbm my friends and find out what they were doing. I went home and pretty much sat on the couch the rest of the day, sporatically going on Facebook to look at different peoples profiles, play Facebook scrabble and just peruse the site. I also used my computer to search youtube videos, edit my friends hilarious essay about Beyonce and to look up new movies we could potentially rent on TV. I sent a few emails and listened to music on my computer but I would say other than those activities, my use of the computer was fairly limited. I don't know if this is necessarily the type of "computerized" activity I am supposed to be recounting but thats pretty much all I did yesterday . I hope this blog response is correct haha... I guess ill find out tomorrow in class.

Yeah don't worry Lauren, I had no idea what was meant by "computerized devices" either. I Googled as well haha but as you know, the only results that came up were about the definition of a computer or like banking and medical devices. I just recorded my use on my laptop and cell as well. so I'm in the same boat, hopefully we did it right
