I think I have mentioned before that the UOG has an arcade section that you can participate in if you've made at least 25 posts. I've racked up at least 25 posts through the semester so I decided to finally try the feature out. There are just a bunch of different casual games. I tried out a few, I can see getting addicted to some if I really put more effort into it, but I did not really want that to happen. I think it's cool how the arcade provides a spot for the community to be brought even more together in a completitive nature.
Throughout the semester I have enjoyed participating in these communities. I find it interesting that I really did lean towards using just one of the three sites I was supposed to be active in (the UOG). At some points I had to force myself to remember to use the other two. I became a fan of Walt Disney World on facebook so that links from the DisneyParks blog were automatically in my news feed. However, although I would read through those posts I did not really actively contribute. I also only contributed to the AllEars.net Facebook page a few times. Still, at the message boards I participated by answering questions for others, asking my own question, and just contributing my own opinion from time to time. I think part of the reason I enjoyed this community the most is because I was able to form an identity within the site by choosing an avatar, name, signature, and profile information. I was able to really define myself within the community and was comfortable with sharing this with the other members of the community so that I felt more a part of it.
